Hi, forum noob. Good forum this, seems like plenty of people have a real passion for Alfa's.
Thought I'd bump this thread rather than start my own as my issue is much the same.
I have a deal lined up for a lovely low mileage black 2007 159 2.4 JTDM and am after some encouraging words to help me get over the fear I have at the back of my head that it will go wrong every 10 minutes.
I've got a civic type R currently which I love, but having 2 young kids means it needs to go in favour of something bigger with 4 doors and less thirst. The 159 2.4 d seems a perfect compromise to me, good looking, enough space, not slow and improved economy. There would be cheaper and fuel efficient cars out there, but they are so uninspiring.
What concerns me is that the 159 would end up costing me money I dont have. Other than new brake pads and tyres the type R has cost me nothing repair wise over 3 years, which is amazing really for a car thats now 5 years old and goes like stink.
The car I'm looking at does have a FSH, but from a national chain of garages, not an alfa dealer. Should that be a concern?
