Brera running lumpy

Noticed in the past couple weeks that my Brera has became lumpy when driving at low revs and is stuttering on start up. I've all ready tried cleaning the EGR and replacing air filter and there is a slight difference however the stuttering on starting the engine is still there. I have heard that a EGR/DPF delete and re map would fix this problem however I may be wrong? Just looking to see if anyone out there has an idea on how to fix this problem!

Have you cleaned the map sensor? That helped me a lot when I had similar symptoms.

I've been having similar issues but am working around it the other way...MAF, MAP, EGR.

MAP sensor was sludged up with an oil/dust combination and improved performance and economy straight away when cleaned.

Istill occasionally get the symptoms you're describing so I'm presuming once I get around to cleaning the EGR I'll be golden.

Ahh I've not thought of that one yet! Definitely one to try as it makes sense that it could be the cause of the problem!

Will definitely be giving the MAF and MAP sensor a clean next! Have your symptoms included white smoke on start up and a really strong diesel smell? That's what I'm also getting on start up.

Yes, and yes!

But, personally, I'm yet to find a 2.4 that [i]doesn't[i] smoke heavily/stink at startup. However other owners may be able to offer information to the contrary.

I've not had the head off. But I did get it Terracleaned last year. Mine was in a bad way when I got it (29mpg, lumpy idle, hesitancy).

I cleaned all things listed plus I bought and fitted a restrictor plate to the EGR and only run vpower nitro+. All combined, mpg went up to circa 36mpg (combined) smooth idle and no hesitancy.

Still smokes from time to time though!

I actually thought you needed a remap after blanking the EGR...is this not the case?

Blanking yes. Restriction, no. You can fit a plate that has a circa 5mm hole in it. Probably cost you a fiver off eBay. It allows enough through to not trigger the EML whilst reducing the crap being pumped back into the inlet manifold.

This fits between the feeder pipe and the EGR. The square shaped ones fit between the EGR and the manifold.

Just make sure it's compatible with your engine first!
