My 6th mot

So , I've had my 1.9 SW for 6 years now and she's on 122,000 miles. All previous MOTs have only cost me a pair of wipers ! This time I did actually have my first fail but it was just a a rear spring which was less than 50 for the part. I think the broken spring is more down to Kent Highways using a 4 year old's Bob the Builder play set to surface the roads around here - they look like something out of Syria.

Anyway - happy days and I hope the 7th year is just as good as the last 6.

She needs to last another year as the Giulia SW won't be here for another year according to my local dealer.

Premium built cars on a premium chassis, it'll outlast the queen on the throne even with 200k on it

Aren't the sub frames prone to rusting? Seems to be a regular reason for an MOT fail on here.
AFAIK mine's ok, but I can be the bury my head in the sand type...
I guess if enough parts are replaced over time it will last forever!

Luckily the sub frames are just a bolt off, bolt on job that's made by GM cheap as chips can't blame Alfa for that really

Fair-dos then. I thought it was a fairly big/expensive job.

I think Clay means it was cheap for GM to produce, hence the rusting, but they afaik go for 500-800 new.

So I guess labour is additional? If so a big and expensive job after all, as I'd presumed.
My initial response was to ''Premium built cars on a premium chassis''. Eh, not sure about that...
