159 1.9 remap essex?

Hi all

Changed my ST tdci for a 159 1.9. Love the car but I'm missing a few of the toys....auto dimming rear mirror, auto wipers, xenons, cooled seats....but more noticeably the torque! The standard 159 really is lethargic in comparison at the mo.

I had my last few cars mapped and want to do the same with this but being in Essex there are limited specialists. Really wanted to go Gus at Alfatune but too far. Could do the oily bits myself, like the egr blank, but probably easier just to pay the and have a one stop fix. Any suggestions of a reputable company nearby? Are Autolusso good (still a bit of a drive from me however)?

Thanks for the pointer Jimbon

Ned Thanks for the reply. What sort of BHP increase are we talking with your map? I have emailed Celtic tuning and they suggest 205bhp with and EGR delete also. Would yours be similar?

Cheers

We can do anything Celtic can do, 205BHP is a bit optimistic

We can go much further if you go with hybrid turbo, we are getting to about 270 BHP with this

If you get it done, I personally would take it to a garage (facilities permitting) that you get your car service / maintained, that way you'll have a much more personal experience and maybe they'd more likely want to make sure you went on your way with a map that wasn't going to turn it into a steam locomotive or have your clutch slipping within a month / turbo fubar'd. Also I'd rather it be under-mapped but with a thumbs up on stability, than them nodding to your requests and going OTT on the torque / power.

One day I'd like to do mine, but I think i'll wait until I get a new clutch first, see how long the current one lasts.

I did think 205 was some jump! As I do 80 dual carriageway miles a day to work I just want reliability without the need to change in to 4th at 60 to get going again after the traffic has slowed down yet again for no reason. The Mondeo was ace in 6th but then the turbo came on from around 1800rpm, this doesn't.

Had an Autolusso remap (Dunstable) last weekend on my 2.4 SW . Really pleased so far, has a fair bit more urgency about it in 5th. 3rd and 4th are a lot more useable too. Generally the car just feels a lot more responsive and smooth surprisingly.
