Brera spider cam belt

I have a 2008 brera on 60k. I don't know that it's had a belt so I brought one to fit but auto data says it cannot be done in the car. It's an engine out job. Has anyone had to do this or can it be done in the car? What are people changing them at?

I am guessing that you have a 2.4 diesel. I am led to believe that it is possible to do the job with the engine in situ. I am I the same boat and have just bought the kit to do the job, have a look on you tube it looks fairly straight forward.

Fit new water pump at same time
- both can be done with engine in, and latter saves you all sorts of issues.

As has been said definitely fit a new water pump as its usually the pump seizing that takes the belt off, to be on the safe side dont let it go longer than 60k miles, and to set it up properly use the proper setting tools, they are very cheap at the moment, £7.50 for the set.

There is a thread on here somewhere and a guide done by Alfashop I think that explains most of what you need to know. I bought the cam lock kit and I will get a new serpent belt as well, change everything while you have it part. I am going as far as replacing my inlet manifold with a non swirl flap version.
Good Luck.
