racechip plug and play any good?

does anybody use a plug in tuning box rather than a remap, racechip do three different versions can anybody suggest different companies

They do work in a fashion (especially effective on Diesels) but they are a very crude way of increasing your cars power.

Basically they fool the cars ECU into increasing the pressure on the common rail, this means that each injector stick in more fuel.

Downsides are extra load on your HP fuel pump, injectors over rich Air to fuel ratio (More black smoke and higher exhaust gas temperatures) and an innacurate MPG reading on the cars computer.

Take it somewhere and get it remapped properly, it will cost pretty much the same and the job will be done properly.

You can also get the EGR turned off at the same time.

You will never be cool driving a Vauxhall, especially if it catches fire.

thanks autolusso cant tune the 2.0 in penrith and the other placeis to far from me

Not on the 2.0, at least for the moment.

No we can't do 2.0 remotely we would either need the car or you can send us the ECU

The racechip has been giving alfa owners in SA many issues. So much that racechip pulled their products for alfa in SA and is not available anymore
