Seat belt alarm

I have a problem in that the seat belt alarm is not detecting that the belt is inserted into the buckle. Meaning that the bloody thing is dinging permanently when there is somebody in the front seat.
We have a 300 mile round trip this weekend and I havenít the time to get it into the garage. Neither do I fancy making the entire journey with my bum in the air.

Does anybody have a quick fix for this ?.... Is there a fuse I could remove or a plug I could disconnect somewhere to temporarily disable this function ?

Had this a while back, annoyed the hell out of me. It was dinging away for a few minutes, would stop and then start again. Turned out was because I'd put a few bottles on the passenger seat so the system thought someone was there not wearing a belt.

Point being that the bell does stop ringing after a few minutes when it thinks you're deliberately ignoring it.

Not a fix I know but it ought to stop of it's own accord after a while.

probably only have to short out 2 wires to make it think its clipped in, most likely the microswitch in the actual buckle has gone.

somewhere on here theres a guide for fixing the heated seats i think they mention the other plug assignments under the seat... but i cant remember. failing that take a pic, and post it up... cant be that hard to figure out, the wires wont be that thick going to a small microswitch and im sure you can find a paperclip and some insulation tape for now
