Thanks Guy,
I didnt realise Duracell did automotive batteries, although its a bit of a step down CCA isnt anywhere close to the Bosch. I cant find any reference to warranty, which makes me think it will be 1yr. the Bosch offers 4 years over that for less than a tenner more.

Toying with the idea of a Varta Silver Dynamic, its advertised at 12v 74Ah 780CCA and can pick them up with change from 70. I've always seen them as 'middle of the road' but with specs exceeding the Bosch its a strong contender.

Edit:- read somewhere that Bosch and Varta are 'sister companies/under the same umrella' and apparently the S5 and Silver Dynamics are the same animals... can anyone confirm?

also im looking for something strong as it'll solve the intermittent disabling of the ABS/VDC/ASR due to low voltage

thanks for replies guys!

After running around a couple of places today, making a few phone calls, doing a bit of google research I decided to go for a Varta Silver Dynamic E44, 77Ah with 780CCA... 66.50 free postage from ebay, should get delivered tomorrow all being well with UK Mail.

I had my 7 month old RAC-labelled Varta battery go flat on me last week. The RAC man that came out and replaced it said that Varta own Bosch (batteries, at least), so yes, from that, they are 'under the same umberella'.
