Brera valve caps question

Hi, just wondering are these standard valve caps on the Brera S and if so, any idea where I can buy replacements? Some knob has taken one of them and replaced it with a black plastic cover!!

I had all mine nicked a while back, I just stuck the old plastic ones on again, not worth the hassle.

The steel valves are meant to hold the pressure better than rubber (not convinced on a road car) but the steel caps always seize onto the valve body so I'm afraid the plastic caps are better.

Well, proper metal caps are made to not seize, by using the same metal as the valve body. But aftermarket caps do often/always seize because of galvanic corrosion.

Can they be bought after market though? I've been on eBay and Google without any success other than the usual third party stuff.

They seem identical to the caps that I had from new on a Mercedes C-Klasse. have you inquired at a dealership. I think they are not too expensive.

You get the plastic ones free when you get new tyres fitted.

Yes but metal ones are theft resistant when they corrode onto the valves.
