159 Battery Fitting Tips

I'm just about to replace the original battery on my wifes 2011 170jtdm Ti with a Varta F18 which has the same dimensions as the OEM so no problems there.

When I disconnect the old battery are there any Alfaisms I'm going to have problems with due to the power disconnection. I know the battery doesn't need coding to the ECU but I dont know what to expect from the central locking, boot release, stereo, Blue and Me, Service indicator etc

Any tips most gratefully received. Thanks

No issues when I did mine except I forgot to refit the battery 'overcoat' and had to take it all out and do it again. The bolt that holds the strap is a bit of a pig w/o a long extension mind! Mine was a 2008 TI so may be different to yours however.

As with any battery change, negative off first and on last..
Because if its connected and whilst disconecting or connecting the positive your spanner touches any body work it will arc..
