Drivers mirror blind spot

Or lack of!

Had my car a few weeks and thought the door mirror must have been replaced at some point as there was no blind spot 'section' and it doesn't heat up like the passenger one does. Ordered replacement via main dealer, but still no blind spot section. He said they only list one mirror for the 159, so can't get one with a blind spot section. Is that right?

Also, the new one he ordered had a blue tint to it, again he said this is the only mirror available. Wouldn't mind the blue tint but neither of my door mirrors has a blue tint and at £25 quid a piece, they'll stay not having a blue tint! Just need to find out why it isn't heating up now.......

Until 14/April/2006 there were different driver's side mirror glasses.
So that meant four different glasses made (to cover LHD & RHD).
After that date the driver's side wasn't different, so only two glasses needed.

The early driver's side glass is still listed: 71740967

Thanks David C, but just to clarify, does the earlier mirror have the blind spot 'bit' on the drivers side or is just that it doesn't have the blue tint?

Cheers

The mito mirror has the blind spot and appears to be the same shape.

No mention of blue tints, just described as "aspheric", which would be wide angle (ie blind-spot).

Lovely stuff, thanks David. I'll go back to the dealers with that part number and see what they come up with.

Cheers again.
