Strange whooo sound on 2,4

Greetings!

I get a strange whooo sound, very similar to one you get when blowing air over empty glass beer bottle. Like howl does when its horny.
It happens only when I reach higher rpms, over 3500. It is audible the best when I punch the gas pedal to the floor and then release it completely after few seconds.

I remember that company's caddy developed this and they sold it then so we never found what it was.

Any idea what can this be? Anyone had this?

It's your turbo and should happen, unless it's really loud.

It is quite audible. I can hear it, for example, if I drive in sixth gear over 160 on a highway, then it is constant. It is also constant if I climb a hill in, let say, third gear but on higher rpms. I can also hear it anytime if I punch the gas pedal and then quickly release it when turbo boost pointer reaches over 1bar. In this case it lasts for a second and disappears.

I do not know what it is but is making me nervous. I'm just trying to gather some info before I go to the garage for a fix. Need to have at least some knowledge otherwise guy can tell anything he likes and I will believe.

That's happening on my 1.9. My boost gauge fluctuates in all gears, car struggles to pull between 1750rmp and 2000rpm. I can hear a whooshing noise coming from the engine too.

Have you had a look at all the piping from the turbo through intercooler and to inlet manifold for any splits?

It's not the case for mine though! And it's really annoying!
