Show off your alloys!

Guys,

Having just come back from the Autosport show this weekend and seeing lots of lovely Alfas, some with rather nice wheels, I though it would be good to get a thread going with some nice pics of wheel upgrades on the 159!

I've got the standard 17" spoked wheels on my 159 and although they do look nice, some bigger ones would be better!

Lets have a look then!!

Got ridof my 17" 20 spokes & put some 18" Horseshoes on, but these have been powder coated a different colour to standard, they are darker, & therefore almost a match for the Stomboli Grey.

Didnt want 19's as these cost too much to replace the tyres on & didnt want to make the ride too harsh.

Very nice indeed - such an improvement over the 20 spoke originals, especially with the colour - mine's stromboli too - thats got me thinking!! If you dont mind me asking - how much did they cost and did you sell your original wheels?

Cheers

Someone was selling a set on here for £500 with tyres last week...

I've got the same wheels on a diamante grey Brera...

Good to see what black and silver wheels look like on a grey 159 - I was thinking along the lines of black and brushed steel split rim design 18's/19's. Yours looks good, very individual.

Subra,

Yours are very similar to the ones shown by Autodelta on the front of Autoitalia this month......

Will post pics of mine when clean..... smoked chrome effect on same wheels, not as bling as sounds but not as obvious as i wanted either.....

+1. I've just upgraded to the 18" horsehoe alloys but I had a good look at aftermarket wheels as well and nothing I saw would have suited the 159 I think. For me an Alfa needs proper Alfa wheels and I consider the 18" horsehoes to be just that. I've always thought the 17" multispokes were too ordinary for an Italian car.

I think you are both right, looking at the selection on the interweb nothing really seems to look as fitting as the 19" or 18" horseshoe style that you mention.

Keep the pics coming and prove us wrong with your aftermarket alloys guys!!

I think part of the problem is not seeing many aftermarket wheels on 159's. It's difficult to know if wheels will suit the car unless you've seen them on, if that makes sense.

Didn't realise so many people had the 18" horseshoe.

Haven't seen any around here, but then haven't seen many Breras/159s.

I think they are great, but would swap love to swap them for the 5 horseshoe Brera S wheels...

+1

18' horseshoe alloys as well here.

Came very close to buying Brera S wheels in 'anthracite' but thought it wouldn't suit a black car.

Very hard to find Brera S wheels in silver without purchasing through the nose from dealerships.

Brera 18" spoke wheels on mine. At first I wasn't quite sure but the more I see it the more I like them. I'd have loved a set of horseshoes - either style - but those that come up seem to be really expensive.

I think it's important to have some sort of contrast between body and wheel colour, so it's not for me

Thanks for the reply, i was also thinking of getting the lip of the alloy polished, so it will look like chrome, I have the chrome mirrors, chrome light surroundings.
