Anyone thinking of selling their Brera...
...this year?
Just a heads up as I will be in the market for one later on in the year so drop me a PM if or when you put it up for sale and let me know what you have. Ideally after a black one in 2.2 or 2.4 guise (not tested either as yet so not sure) but all the other colours will definitely be considered..the blue uns looks nice as does the red but not so keen on silver or grey. Ideally if anyone is needing to cut back financially or needs more space but still wants/needs (delete as applicable) an Alfa then a deal involving my GT would be good. Save us both the hassle
Got plenty of time on my side but just planting the seed as you never know

Re: Anyone thinking of selling their Brera...
No bloomin' clue really.
But I'm starting to see quite a few Breras around now.
(Yes I am that shallow. )
And most of them are black too.
Unless AR bring out their new engines, I may have to stray.
But what else is there that compares with the B?
New ~2l Turbo 159 Ti with a proper sunroof would keep me onside, maybe.

Re: Anyone thinking of selling their Brera...
Not this time. I've finally laid that ghost to rest. It would be silly money I'd have to thorw at it in fuel as I would need to use it for work every single day and I spend about 50% of my time out and about doing short journies around the City. It's a shame really as would have loved to own one for a while but I've got mortgage and food to think of first

The MkV GTi seems to be a good car alright, but I know what you mean, just isn't in the same class as an Alfa sports car.

Re: Anyone thinking of selling their Brera...
New Scirocco looks nice & has reasonable interior room for 4. Probably drives like a golf gti, so pretty damn good, really. But its going to be the head vs heart thing again. Plus, the Scirocco is a very new car, & only my opinion, but buying new at the moment is not the cute way to go. The mk5 golf gti is being replaced soon & will be a 2nd hand bargain.
My Brera lease deal has another year to run. When that expires (or when its close to expiry), I'll be looking for a GT, probably a diesel. Mainly cos I still want an Alfa, & like coupes but need a bit more rear room than the Brera has.
Alfas aside, a 2nd hand golf gti with DSG with low miles & for £13k or so makes a lot of sense. Mind you, some of the current 147 special editions might be interesting.
Matt.

Re: Anyone thinking of selling their Brera...
I was next to a Scirocco on my way back home this afternoon. I thought it looked ok. The magazine I saw it in originally said you have to see it in the metal to truly appreciate it but I wasn't exactly overawed...would probably still opt for the Golf GTI out of the two...in white

Re: Anyone thinking of selling their Brera...
Yeah I really like the front of the Scirocco but really don't like the rear light clusters and hatchback top shape... not quite right. At least it's a bit rarer than a Golf, but let's see what they come up with for the Mk VI GTi. Still, maybe it wouldn't feel special enough in any Golf after an Alfa.
I agree, it's really not a great idea to buy any car in the first year of manufacture.

Not a massive fan of grey cars...but definitely a fan of the 'S' so could be tempted

I'd love it but just cannot justify running a 3.2 with the type of short, daily journies I do. The 2.0 JTS I had cost me enough....although I'm pretty sure I heard my 'big' boss this morning say to my immediate boss that he's looking into my upgrade so you never know!!! I won't hold my breath though as been waiting 2 years already lol
