Lick Thinking of buying a 2009 159

Guys in another thread i talked about the problems of my 2006 1.9 jtdm 159... I am thinking of replacing it with a 2009 1.9 jts..

Few questions.
-How is the performance of 1.9 jts engince compared to 1.9 jtdm
(not talking about the fuel economy) just speed and acceleration
-Is the 2009 159 a face lifted model or exactly same as the 2006 model?
-are there any interior tweaks?
- Leather seats or alfatex?
- I love the black exterior for the 159... what would be the best interior exterior combo?
- How more reliable the 2009 model would be over the 2006 model

thank you.

Re: Thinking of buying a 2009 159

1) - Hasnt the1.9 JTS been phased out?
2) - Looks just the same, some interior and electrical tweaks, seats and climate panle differ and the boot opens by pressing the badge, omitting the button on the roof
3) - Depends on the model
4) - I had Black/ Beige, that was cool (Got Grey and Black now)
5) - No reason to think it would be any more reliable, but probably less chance of a dud this time.

Re: Thinking of buying a 2009 159

In terms of reliability and build quality early release cars are ALWAYS worse than later cars. Given the 2009 model followed on from a complete factory refit and additional staff training it should be a lot better from that point of view. But, I think there have been some cost savings too, with plastic trim used when there used to be aluminium for example.

Oh yeah, the best interior colour combo is black/biege - really classy.

my08 changes... what cj romeo said and also instrument cluster lighting is white for anything than ti/sport (was red iirc before). and climate control panel is worse (has no mono )...

summertime I'd trade leather anytime for alfatex too bad they don't have ventilated seats

Re: Thinking of buying a 2009 159

i have the black beige on my 2006 jtdm... it surely is classy. I wonder if red leather seats would look great as they do in spider or brera...

As far as i know 1.9 model are still produced but there is another 1.8 model as well...
In turkey the alfa HQ does not bring a 2.2 159 but brings the 3.2 159.. Though we have 2.2 spyder and brera... Too bad i cant get my hands on the 2.2 jts...

I can see how the car will be more reliable but what worries me is that its been almost 3-4 years since this generation alfas came out and when will there be a model difference in 159? i dont want to buy a 2009 all new 159 and in 2010 the model will be different in exterior

that would break my balls.

Black and red is my first choice, followed by black and black.

Someone on here posted a rumour that the 159 would not be facelifted in 2010, but replaced.

hmmm interesting? by meaning replaced you mean another model for example 158 will come for 159? or the entire look interior and exterior will dramatically change in 2010?

i wonder if there are any sources since it would be a bad investment to buy a 2009 159 and next year they dont produce 159s anymore..

Was the rumor same with spyder and brera as well? can u remember?

159 only and related to a completely new car to replace the 159.
