Re: GTLeigh's New Brera

Beautiful car, hope you enjoy it as much as your GT. I made the same move a year ago (though went for the diesel...more fool me eh!) and have not regretted it for a second, loved my GT but the Brera is something else. Enjoy it fella.

Many happy miles! Also went from GT to Brera, love them both!

Looks great
I did have a GT 2.0 JTS Selespeed, really great car, but you sure can see/feel the difference in the build and ride, its far better "bolted together" if you know what I mean. & with 100 or so bhp more its a different animal altogether, I really loved my GT but the Brera 3.2 is something else

I must admit i'm starting to get a bit fed up with the 'crashiness' of the GT ride around town on the sh!te uk roads.....out on a decent piece of tarmac it's lovely still, but under 30 on poor roads it's a rattling dog at times.

Nice car but minor issues? It's bloody brand new there shouldn't be any issues especially considering the profile of the buyer.

They are being dealt with shortly, whilst niggly they dont spoil the enjoyment , the car is still superb and well worth the wait.

So how long did you have to wait? For a car that isn't quite right?

Not trying to knock it any way, just read Hunters continuing saga and feel it's just not right, regardless of whether its a little thing or a big thing.

I think Hunters issues are rather more mechanical than mine as the car is off the road and I guess his fury is aimed at ARUK rather than the dealer who has been asked to sort it out.

Just for information I have the following issues.

a bit of wind noise from the passenger side window seal at M-way speed
a small burr on the passenger door handle
a bit of distortion on one of the rear speakers
a bit of a clunk on the drivers door

Whilst these should have been sorted before it left Portbury pdi, Mangoletsi have promptly and efficiently organized the rectification work, I emailed at 10.30 last night, and at 10am I was called by service to arrange getting the car in on Saturday morning to resolve the issues.

I know that issues on delivery do arise we'd all love perfect cars every time, I have had other cars with delivery niggles from Nissan to Mercedes even Jaguar - dads not mine i might add . As I said in an earlier post its not spoilt the enjoyment and I didnt want to make a big issue out of it because in all honesty it isnt.

As for the wait - 21 weeks from order, which also included the factory closure for MY08 retooling, and the production of the Spider LE & Brera s to get them in the showrooms, again this was an Alfa issue not a dealer issue.

I dont want this thread to become an issue thread, it was a thread to show off my beautiful new car that in all honesty I am absolutely delighted with, I thought the GT was stunning but the Brera is so much more !!

P.s this is the longest post I have probably made, i need a lie down & a nap now

Good attitude GTLeigh - I have never had a new car without some minor irritation. It's nice to see a philosphical attitude .
