Brera Bonnet Badge

Morning all,

My Bonnet badge has faded - Must have been facing the sun when parked, rear is ok (My 166 was the opposite with ok front and faded rear).

Anyway - Dealer quoting £31.17 + VAT (Part no. 156067471) which seems steep as 166 rear badge purchased recently was under £20. Nothing on fleabay - Anyone know if the badge is interchangeable with other models?

Also want to replace the drives door brushed aluminium strip - £56.25 + VAT as it has a few scuffs, scrapes and dents. Two parts nos. 156063771 & 156073777 given - I am sure chassis no. will sort out when I decide to stump up! Both listed as metal - What will difference be?

Anyone got an eper link with the Brera on?

It has to be Italian! Fiat, Lancia & Alfa all my days.

My Alfas - 164 3.0 12v - 156 1.8 SP1 - 164 3.0 24v - 156 SW 1.8 SP3 - 166 Super - 166 3.2 Ti - Brera SV JTDM

Re: Brera Bonnet Badge

Is it really aluminium Dougie? If so, you may be able to improve it with a good metal polish. As for the badge, I would think they are all the same diameter are they not?

Re: Brera Bonnet Badge

Yeah it is Aluminium - A soft metal so some scrapes, gouges and small dents, polish will not change anything. Not that bad, looks worse when looking over from paseger seat.

I will check badge fixing, dia will be the same I imagine. Still wondering about warranty claim though.

The one for the 156 has got 2 sticky out pins, and the 166 only has one in the middle (i think having had a brief look?)

My 2000 166 had 2 pins. You don't really need the pins any way. They act as a guide to "square" the badge and the c clips would stop it from falling off (as if the badge would fall off!) The sticky around the edge is pretty good but I have also fitted good second hand badges in the past with silicon sealant.

I just noticed the bootlid badge looks odd. It's not peeling like the front did, but the gold seems to have turned silver. Is this the problem everyone else has had?

Re: Brera Bonnet Badge

I posted comments about the front badge fading on another thread last week and nobody reported it was a common fault, thought it was just mine. My problem is that I bought the car from Caledonian who went bust so I'm not sure how to make a warranty claim if it's at all possible

Re: Brera Bonnet Badge

If it's within 2 years from 1st registration, then its a warranty claim from AR direct, not the original dealer. Get it into Mangoletsi or somewhere close to you at the next service.

Re: Brera Bonnet Badge

Front badge has gone on mine too so will try a warranty claim later next week. If not I'll pay anyway as I need to get the front end resprayed anyway, so will look naff with a fecked badge.

Had my front & rear replaced under warranty at different dealers without any problem. Car is over 2 years old. I though the paint work warranty is 3yrs and assumed they were covered under that.
