Colour/trim advice - Brera

I recognise that I may well be about to open a can of worms in respect of the age old colour debate but am genuinely seeking input.

I'm in the fortunate position of being able to choose a new factory build Brera to replace my exisiting lemon. Current car is Montecarlo Blue which is a fairly striking colour but not sure I'd choose it again.

So I've narrowed it down to the following:

Carbonio black with red or natural leather

Touring grey with red leather

Alfa Red with natural leather

The colour I'd really like is the red which was used on the Geneva show cars which GT Leigh and Squadrone Rosso photographed but sadly this is not readily available

I think I'm going to go with the new design 5 whole 18"alloys with the dark finish but does anybody know if the Ti style 19s are available as a factory order on Breras ? The ARUK website says no but it is not the most reliable of sources.

Re: Colour/trim advice - Brera

Great under show room lights, but under cloudy skies or dirty, the grey looks dull - too dull for a Brera IMO. Black is great but high maintenance - are you willing to put in the cleaning time or is she perhaps going to be garaged or low mileage?

If not then red I guess. However, I would say that having seen it in the flesh, 8C red is INFINITELY nicer than Alfa red. I can't communicate how much nicer a colour is - you need to see it in the metal. Would definitely suit a Brera. I would have a word with your dealer as I am sure you can get a custom colour done and it's not that much pricier I think. Maybe they won't officially give you the exact 8C red but I bet they'd give you something virtually identical and not call it 8C red!

Otherwise consider Rubino red - it's darker but lovely in the flesh.

The red is stunning - it looked good the other day in the showroom, however my spider is Missano blue and its looks spot on.

I also like the rubino red.

Yes I agree re the 8C red it is fantastic - I think that was the colour used on the Geneva cars.

Is Rubino available on Breras ? The ARUK website says no

Re: Colour/trim advice - Brera

Out of your 3 choices it's got to be red. Black is very high maintenance and will highlight any imperfections on the bodywork.

Another colour I would consider is Missano blue.

Have to go with Hunter on this one. Probably looking at a once a week wash minimum but when it's done the finish on the Carbonio black is beautiful. Although given the choice I'd probably go with the Missano Blue and natural leather.

If you don't get Carbonio Black ()
you will always be regretting it, which
will mar the Brera experience for you.

I'd have a look at Gold. I have seen a Brera in this colour and it looks really classy - particularly with blac leather. Often overlooked this colour.

Forgive me but I honestly can't tell whether you're taking the pee or not

Have spoken to a dealer and sadly Rubino not available on 08 Brera. Neither is 8C red to special order

I've been trawling through the galleries and I have to say the Carbonio Black looks great. I know it's a PITA to keep clean but Mrs RSK's Disco 3 is also black so we're well in with the local Polish polish lads. That said perhaps two black motors is a bit of overkill too.......

Looking at the galleries I can't help but think that it will look great with the tan leather which the 159 guys have been able to spec with Carbonio and which Brera owners have had to forego up until now. Might also look cool with the dark titanio finish alloys ?

Re: Colour/trim advice - Brera

Another vote for the Misano blue. Mine has the 2-tone blue/tobacco interior, but if you're getting an 08 model with the new seats, then I'd go for a tan/natural type colour.
To be fair, the black looks when its clean & stone-chip free, but in the real world, I would definitely go for Misano.
Matt.

Misano Blue with tan leather gets my vote.

Alfa Red with Tan leather. Black just doesn't do the brera justice.

Western in Edinburgh have a Gold Brera as a loaner and I have to admit I wouldn't choose it if I hadn't seen it.... But I have seen it and it looks superb! Not as nice as Misano Blue but I'm biased!!!

IMHO, Silver looks really rubbish on a Brera, any shade of Black is good but high maintenance and doesn't show off the curves (just like womens clothes, aint that the way with black though!!), red rocks, blue is the thinking mans colour, and Greys are sooo sophisticated

How's that for a whistle stop tour of colours!!

Re: Colour/trim advice - Brera

There is only one colour for an Alfa.

Alfa even put there name to it

ALFA RED

The clue is in the name.
