re: 2.2 JTS hesitation - now with new IMPORTANT information & escalation details

Martin,

I'm right with you on this one. I gave 'em six months which will be up in December, I was getting the same garbage from Alfa, as has been recounted in the last few threads, months ago. One minute italy are working on a definite solution, the next is a "characteristic". They can't even be consistant in the response

I contacted Auto Express some time ago and they did not respond, I take it they are are not interested.... By the way, my local dealer is no better than they were when I bought my 156 off them 5 years ago, still full bulls**t.

Thats the hardest thing.. I would probably go with Mazda, they do make good looking cars that are fun to drive. Not quite as good looking as the current range of Alfas, but they are not bad. Shame you are leaving the brand but I can understand why. You could always get an older Alfa as a weekend car, that way you can avoid the dealers

Firstly, cause then you would invalidate your warranty, secondly cause you shouldn't have to on a £20k+ car. It should be right from the factory. Why don't Alfa UK support their customers? Do they want to succeed in the UK? You'd think not from their actions..

I know as far as you are concerned they can do no wrong, but I'd never buy an Alfa in warranty no matter how much I earn until I see a big improvement from ARUK, at the moment ARUK is still the biggest liability when it comes to Alfa Ownership.

Alfa 156 3.0 24v V6, Silver, red leather, Q2 diff, GTA Teledials, headlights & inlet manifold, AutoDelta carbon intake, BMC CDA, decat pipe and SuperSprint rear box, Eibach Pro springs & Koni FSDs (Front), FK coilovers (Rear), Dastek Unichip - my 245bhp beast!

Gone but not forgotten: Alfa 156 2.4 JTD Veloce, Angel 'mad map' & BMC CDA, Ferodo DS2500s - the fastest tractor in town!

Why should we pay to cure our cars & in doing so, invalidate our warranties

re: 2.2 JTS hesitation - now with new IMPORTANT information & escalation details

i have had problems with company cars under warranty in the past mazda, toyota, ford, including alfa romeo. electrics in 2007 mazda 3 were constantly failing. the dealer was a complete joke, constantly playing me off. in the end i gave up! went to a local garage. problem solved.
what fuel are you lads running in your 2.2s?
honestly, do not know anyone in australia with this hesitation problem. weird i say...

It is annoying as hell, but you know what, it is actually better than BMW who refused to find anything wrong with the clutches on my mother in laws 3 series and my wife's mini cooper (same problem, both cars!!!). The family have ditched both brands.

I'd never buy a new Beemer either, don't wanna look like a sales rep (no offence if you're reading this GhostyDog )

Its not like every Beemer has a bad clutch though is it.. BMW don't call it a characteristic of the car.

STOP the thread!! its ok, all is sorted, we have a solution!!

Oh boy, for a start sir, a remap wont fix everything in particular the issue I have with my car. As for whoever says this is all bickering, thats probably because you dont have to live with the problems yourself so lets have something constructive eh?
