Are they the standard leather seats? They look much better than the original but different from the MY2008 press photos.
Cheers

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

Hi Folks

Second post, first was to introduce myself last night...So my story is a long one with hopefully a silver lining at the end of it!

Beginning of November 07 I placed my order for 1.9JTDm Lusso QTronic, diamond flat spoke wheels, Blue&Me, that was about it couldn't squeeze any more on the lease.

I had previously tried to order a 2.4Ti, I went to my local dealer (Mangoletsi) to have a look at the 159, they had a red Ti in the show room, drop dead gorgeous Our company fleet providers TCH would not allow any Ti's on the fleet because they were a special edition!!! It now transpires that they are part of the fixed model range and they also do the 1.9 diesel...gutted to say the least.

I have been told mine is scheduled in production so I can't cancel for a Ti although I have managed to get heated seats and heated screen in lue of the Blue&Me and wheels which are now standard on the MY08 car.

I was originally very peed off because they took so long to sort things out they couldn't find a model that matched my spec in the UK, it would have to be factory ordered. I was then informed mid December that my order had been caught by the factory closure, I had no idea the factory was closing! I was then given a delivery date of May 15th...now it is scheduled for production whatever that means! How long it will be is anyone’s guess.

Silver lining...I am so pleased I didn't end up with the MY07 model, the minor tweaks are worth the wait the new consol finish and dial layout looks much better, the improved standard kit has given me the heated seats that the wife was well peed-off about so all round better deal I think. I am just desperate to get it now, reading this forum doesn't help matters listening to the privileged few who have received theirs, only joking of course...

Spec:
Alfa Romeo 159 1.9JTDm Lusso Q-Tronic MY2008
Black with red leather
Standard 17" rims (Diamond Flat Spoke)
Heated seats
IR windscreen with sun shade and heated blade area.

Can't bloody wait...

Regards.....tourney.

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

This has been a pretty ****ty day so far.

Had it all worked out.
The bankloan was ok, the wife was happy with the car, and I had finally decided for a 159 TI, White color, natural leather, Sun roof, xenon, boose...
It was going to be so sweet...

Call my very reliable dealer in Denmark.
He tells me that there is a 6 months wait for the TI.
6 months!!!!

I am so disapointed. Had finaly decided...

What should I do now? Do not want to go back to the Lusso.
It's a great car, but I really really want the TI.

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

Anybobdy in the UK got a ti yet ?
A guy from Fiat customer services is now on the case with mine and called me today to advise that it's due into Bristol port on friday, subject to a high tide.
It will then be 2 weeks max before I can take delivery

Crikey I was told that mine was due into Bristol on the 28th, but I was told that the boats leave Italy every Friday, so I doubt there will be two boats coming in that close together. Maybe mine will arrive on Friday instead hmm I think I'll give the dealer a call tomorrow...

I think the 6 months wait is for all versions that need to be built now.
I've ordered my TI end of december last year and the production is planned for somewhere in may at the moment.

Build to order is one thing, but 6+ months wait for a mass production car is just silly.

Someone quoted one departing Alfa Romeo CEO who said that nobody, nobody at Alfa had a clue about running a business. I can't find that quote now (anybody?), but it seems to continue to sum up the company!

But they are built to order aren't they I was told they build them in similar/same spec batches, so if your order just misses the batch schedule, you may be waiting a while. There must also be a bit of a backlog from when the factory was closed.

I've just spoken to my dealer and he told me it can be up to four weeks from when the car arrives in the country

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

I have too, have just spoken to my dealer. he said my car was built on the 14th of April (the day the strike started ) which is week 16 when I was originally told it was going to be built in week 15. He thinks it is currently on a ship between here and Italy and it should take 10 days to get to this country and a further 10 days to get up here, although he has a few contacts at the port and can maybe get it up here quicker .
call me a cynical old git, but why don't I believe him

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

There seems to be a lot of mixed messages coming from dealers regarding deliveries.
I've had at least 3 different stories and dates, so now I don't believe any of them.

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

This only makes it harder to shift my current car, as I can't tell any prospective buyers when they can have it I was told, however, that pre-sold cars get priority throught the PDI process

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

I spoke to ARUK yesterday about the delivery times as I'm about to order a 1.9JTDM Ti SW and was worried about the prospect of a 6 month wait. They told me that there is no difference in the lead times between models and that 12 weeks is still the norm.

Mine was ordered 2nd week of Jan. Dealer told me today it has been built and is on its way over. Delivery still on schedule for end-May. Guess it's on the same boat as one or two others on here. Keeping fingers firmly crossed.

Re: Anyone got their MY08 159 yet?

Not happy...good news and bad, the bad news is my fleet manager has told me I can't have the heated seats and windscreen I wanted in lue of the blue&me and wheels which are now standard. Good news my car is in production that is the reason why they could not accommodate the changes to spec.

I have been told I can have the value put into dealer suplied accessories! I have looked all over the internet and can't find any reference to dealer accessories. If anyone has any suggestions they would be most welcome, around 500 quid.

regards...tourney.
