Guys - very strange thing. My 155 V6 widebody is currently sitting in the garage and the mechanic says that I have wrong rod ends fitted (I have changed them 2 months ago).
Basically the pin on the rod end is too small and goes through the hub - its clearly loose.
The mechanic ordered 3 pairs from different sources and they are all the same - incorrect. Have you heard of any similar problems before or you have an idea what the problem might be?
It seems that the diesel ones do not fit either. Possibly someone has changed the steering rack from the old model, but the hubs are from the new, so no way to match the rod ends. Clearly a huge problem.
There was a set from the Alfa dealer that had correct pins but these were too loose on the other side - phi 14mm, whereas the rack's arm is 12mm. I am getting the steering rack's arms with 14mm on each side and this hopefully helps. Apparently arms do not come as a separate part in this country and try to source them from Poland.
