Maybe it just needs to be greased. Mine was cutting out too, presumably because it thought that the window had closed fully or that there was something blocking it.
I opened up the door and lubricated all the moving parts I could find. Do the door locks while you're in there. It almost solved the problem, I mean the window closed most of the time but it continued to stick at about half distance sometimes. Turned out that the felt runners that the window slides in had mossy stuff and dirt built up and was restricting the window from rising smoothly. I cleaned them out and sprayed silcon grease into the runners and, even though its a bit lazy, it does open and close now.
This had happened while the car was lying around unused for 9 months.
