Having a bad week!!
Hi all,Lil story to tell..A guy i worked with since 02 bought a nice shiney 97 155, Every day i would stand outside the office block havin a q ciggy admiring it..told al (his name) that one day i would buy the car off him. where we worked was a vehical recovery firm and had a workshop where labour charges were almost nil..Needless to say we all had alot of work done to our cars the 155 being one, Al spent a small fortune as the bills show.Anyway he soon decided to sell but i didnt have the cash..So i talked my brother in to buyin it for himself assuring him that the car was tiptop..As it was!..He drove it for 18 mnths when i made him an offer..He accepted.. yippie!!..(he then bought an 02 selespeed) since ive had it a new exhaust,brakes,tyres,brake lines, which totaled the bills somewhere around 1200 squid (parts only) Then to have some slight probs with the gear change..Resulting in a nu clutch..Which i wasnt faized over as i loved the car and would be happy to spend the 304 squid..Mr clutch did the clutch on fri....BUT..when they went to drive off the ramps the cambelt tensioner oblitorated itself on start up..Bearing in mind the belt was changed 17.000 m ago this seemed strange..Then i suddenly realised what this strange thing was in my boot boxed as nu..THE NU TENSIONER..Obviously never changed! well i drowned my sorrows last night and having been on the spanners many moons ago ive decided to have a go myself changing the belt to see if any damage occured which is likely..Can any body please give me any pointers on the best way around this as im pretty rusty??
