155 Tappet Cover????

Hey Guys,

Hope all of you are doing well?

I hope you guys might be able to help?

My 155 is finally running after a lot of trouble, swearing and a kick or two.

After driving around for a couple of days and km's, I came across a new oil stain in the driveway. After more investigating it looks like the oil is leaking from the tappet cover, right above the camshafts going through the cylinder head.

I have thought about only replacing the seal, but the tappet cover has been welded a couple of times and the one corner has been stuck back up with Pratley.

I have tried all the local scrap yards but they don't want to remove a cover from a complete engine assembly.

Now the other thing is? Is there a different model say a 147 or 156 I can look at that will fit on my 155 engine?

I have seen a couple of 156 and 147 engines being stripped for parts in the junk mail, but hopefully you guys could give me some advise.

Sorry for the long thread.

If it is an alloy top and not a plastic top then 2.0 GTV/145/146 will all fit, same for if it is a plastic top but add 147/156

They crack very easily when tightening the holding screws, needs very low torque

For future reference you can fit the complete "plastic" 156/147 style top and cover.......probably more of them around now.
