155 2.5V6 Waterpump

What's involved in removing a waterpump on one of these? Drop engine to change or is it less involved? Any advice much appreciated !

Re: 155 2.5V6 Waterpump

It's fiddly but do-able with the motor in the car. Make sure you time up the crank/cams BEFORE taking the timing belt off. Might seem obvious but I know people who forgot and it makes life difficult! One cam (can never remember which one) might jump a bit when you release the belt tension - don't fret, it won't go far or cause any damage. Check out the AlfaBB for the cam timing template for the 164V6 - it can be used on the 155 motor as well and saves mucking about taking the cam covers off to re-time it. Make sure you get some reference marks set up for cam timing before taking the belt off of course. Be careful when tensioning the new cambelt. Don't over-stress the tensioner. Quick search on here will find you the method. err..can't think of much else to add.
