Ciao fellow 155isti,
My heart almost stopped last night, on the way to dinner... driving an approximate 3k rpm (60mph or so), in 5th gear, the oil pressure warning light started flickering, though dimly.
The oil pressure was normal (slightly under 4 bar, around 3k rpm, engine temp around 70). I stopped, checked the oil level, and it looked just fine, topped to the max, as usual.
Later on, I did drive past the 3k rpm mark in lower gears, and the oil pressure light didn't turn on.
I thought it might be a dodgy oil pressure sensor, but on the way back, the same thing happened in the same conditions.
And passing the 3k rpm mark in 5th gear made the oil pressure warning light shine brighter.
I checked the oil pressure this morning again, with the engine cold, same thing, it appears topped to the max. And last night the engine sounded, smelled and behaved as usual.
So... Is my oil pressure sensor on the way out?.. or am I misreading the oil stick?.. or is it the oil pump leaving this earth for oil pump heaven?
