Crank sensor is a single part that tells the ECU what the engine timing position is. If it was faulty, none of it would work, not just 2 and 3.
There's been a lot of discussion on here how the T/S jobbery works.. but as I remember, on the 8v the little plug fires at 360 degrees to the big plug, so I bet the little plug on 2 and 3 is firing and the little plug on 1 and 4 isn't..
The little plugs firing on 2/3 would not allow those cylinder to fire, as they'd be on the exhaust stroke.
If you take an old spark plug and connect it to the HT lead you want to test and then earth it (lie it on the engine) you'll be able to see at a glance if that lead / plug / coil is firing or not.
Or swap the coils and see if the problem moves.
