With my other half following my 8v 155 2.0 TS earlier today, she said that there was a slight puff of blue smoke emerging from the pipe everynow and then. I can't say that I have noticed this before, although I haven't really looked out for it, but I have noticed that the car seems to smell very fumy every now and then.
The car has done 74,000 miles, and does approximately 300 miles to a full tank of gas - i think this is about right myself, calculating it at 26mpg on a combined cycle. Is this normal? But the occasional fumy smell leads me to think that there could be an overfuelling problem with the car - has anyone else experienced this with their 155's before?
Regarding the blue smoke, I am considering getting a compression test carried out - does anyone know what the readings roughly should be?
The car pulls like a train, which makes me think the possibility of leaking valves / guides / rings is quite unlikely - I hope that's not the case anyway as I have had all that with my Delta HF Turbo !
Any advice appreciated as it always is!
(P.s. - at what sort of intervals do the springs need changing on the 155's - I am waiting to install some new dampers and was just wondering whether the springs ever really do wear out!)
