Re: Anyone used Autodeco? fibreglass panels..
Yeah, my thoughts too - Ive had a hunt about for a full GTA panel kit but unlikely such a thing exists. A shame as there are plenty of GRP bodykit and panel manufacturers about.
I have found a couple of japanese websites that cover the Zagato (very close to the GTA in looks) panels and it doesnt seem that much grief to achieve... ish.
The 'plan' so far is: Start to get decent technical info on the GTA (width, track, wheel sizes & offsets etc..) as a guide. Then buy an old 155 wide body and use it a styling mule: grafting on (using mdf, grp, filler etc..) the wider arches, door skins etc.. would be very messy but eventually (!) one side is turned into a GTA buck. Dimensions are then transferred to the other side of the car to get the buck symmetrical.
A load more dust, mess and a grp later.. a set of GRP panel molds to start making the final items from.
Granted it could take a lot of work, but GRP is not difficult stuff to use and pretty cheap, and the molds can then be reused to churn out as many panels as needed, so cost could be recovered steadily.
Im sure there would be enough takers to make the thing worthwhile? Hacking a Q4 about may take some bottle though!
