Alfa Romeo 155

Hmmm Do I need my clutch replaced?

Hi everyone

I have a 1994 Alfa Romeo 155 TS. It's been running great and has been garaged for most of the last 1.5 years. I am now using it again and have noticed a change: I will be driving along happily but when I accelerate it sounds as if I am riding the clutch. After a few seconds the clutch seems to engages and is back to normal. I find it strange that this problem developes after no use. Is it possible that this is occuring for having not been driven for some time and will right itself, or am I looking at a clutch replacement?

Anyone's advice/experience would be appreciated!

Re: Do I need my clutch replaced?

You may have got some contamination on the clutch or it's become weak.....keep going and see if it improves but otherwise....yes, you'll need a new clutch.

...and welcome to the forum
