My old bus was found on Jupiter, then it was driven back to Earth where it had a new head gasket.
It's been up and down the motorways.. as far north as Scotland and as far south as Italy. It's winged it's way along A-roads, B-roads and dirt-tracks.
I've used it for commuting, visiting friends, chicks and relatives. I've taken stuff to the tip in it, I've moved house in it, I've towed a container in in.
It holds the all-time speed record down the A-320 (104 mph... some nice adjudicators took a photo to prove it!
) and it is responsible for the mass-murder of flies, bugs. insects, sparrows, pigeons, pheasants, rabbits, cats and foxes (missed the horse!)
I had to put a new gearbox on it at 125k and a new TDC sensor at 140k. It's not been perfect .. it chews wishbones, leaks a bit of oil (rocker cover) and the electrics sometimes go west (roof and window parts being a bit dear).
But the old ship is on 174,000 miles now and (I'll say it again) everything works except the light in the clock.
.. Maybe I'm missing something .. but for a not very good all-rounder, it's the best not very good all rounder I ever had.
