Re: When is a wheel bearing an ABS sensor?
Thanks for the info on the parts BTW. I'm in Brighton.
The garage's logic is something along the lines that you can't make an omlette withour cracking eggs! i.e. they had to disconnect the apparently weathered sensor in order to fix the wheel bearing.
Like you, 'the you broke it, you fix it' appraoch seems to be the obvious thought.
Anyway, the garage have suggested that I bring the car in and they'll show me exactly what was done and how it was unavoidable! They are, in fairness, a friendly bunch and do seem to care, however my wallet is feeling persecuted!
The garage are not an alfa specialist and have suggested that this is a common problem with Alfa, Fiats and some French cars. I get the feeling though that if I'd taken the car to my usual indepedndent Alfa people this would all be different.
