On my 16V 155 when you use the single wipe, just to clear the screen (so you push the stalk up and let it fall back) if you hold the stalk up while the wipers wipe then the wipers move fine but if you push the stalk up and then release it straight away the wipers go up and then on the way back down they go very slow and judder but this isn't the case if you hold the stalk up. Is this meant to happen?

Re: Wipers

Yes, quite normal.

By holding the wiper stalk up you are using the switch to complete the circuit. If you move it briefly then the switch makes the initial contact. This is followed by the parking circuit within the motor when the wiper stalk is released.

edit* by holding the stalk up throughout the single wipe you are not using the circuit within the motor* added for clarity

In case you don't know, the wiper motor's parking contacts have problems making contact through the grease on the parking plate. If you do a search on this forum you should find out more.

Re: Wipers

Yes, mine used to be exactly the same. Have you cleaned the motor contacts?
