Moaning Quick clutch fix?

The clutch pedal on my 97 2.0 16v has gone binary - it snaps between fully up and fully down, with no effect on the clutch itself.

Now I think this is down to a leak in the slave cylinder, but rather than replace it I was wondering if there is a "quick fix" I can do just to move the car onto a trailer?

I've just moved house and need to transport the car to the new place (it's got no T&T so I can't drive it - even if the clutch were working!).

Unfortunately it's parked on grass, so has sunk into it a little and also the handbrake is stuck on (rear calipers seized, I expect).

Any suggestions as to how I can move the damn thing would be appreciated. I can't get the trailer near enough to attach the winch BTW.

Re: Quick clutch fix?

Hmm, tricky, you could put it in gear without using the clutch and move the car by crancking the starter motor - No idea if it will work, seen it done on old cars, the 155 bay be too heavy though.

Other than that 4 or 5 blokes pushing very hard, or trailer with a winch

Re: Quick clutch fix?

Tow rope on the winch to drag it out or can you get another car in there to tow it out?

My only other suggestion is the same as Jack, but you may end up needing a new starter motor if it's not too clever.
