Shame I never really saw you out, Marlon. I suppose you just weren't quick enough to catch the AXGT
I got it wrong a couple of times- the usual- reversed down Duffus and spun just BEFORE the chicane. Didn't help having an MX5 3 feet off my rear end
Anyway, I did have a good skirmish with the prepped XK150. Not racing, of course, but we did push each other on a bit, and it was good to have both cars getting a bit wobbly, or even downright sideways whilst so closely matched.
The Jag had it on accelaration, but the wee AX made it under braking, and on most of the corners, but there was nothing in it
The AX was good fun and handled well, but it just never reached levels of grip and predictability that I would expect of the 75 or 155. The short wheelbase also ensured that neutral, oversteer and finally understeer were often experienced all in the same corner
I just wish I knew it was going to have been wet, as I'd have worked O/T to have the 155 (the blue one) ready!
