hello everyone.I feel I must tell you my recent experience as it beggars belief.
last week i bought a lovely X reg 156 1.8 ts veloce in amazonia green 52,000 miles 1 owner, for the sum of £4k which sounded like a bargain as the plugs had just been changed .test drove it and it felt good.
The car was delivered wednesday evening and all seemed fine ,I took my new green machine for a bit of a spin and soon discovered all was not well.
she was idling very erratically and seemed to have no power at low revs.
I telephoned the dealer who said he'd not noticed anything when he delivered it. He then told me to take it to his mechanic who would take a look at it. I took the car the following day and the mechanic threw half bottle of jet cleaner in the tank
and told me it should be ok.
i set off back home and 2 miles down the road the awful sound of exhaust valves being bent filled my ears and came to a halt.
I telephoned the dealer feeling a tad peaved
at this point and explained my dilema after a few choice phrases from both ends he got me towed back to his mechanics where 1 week later it remains in the process of repair by a mechnic who hasn't worked on an alfa before.
I must add the dealer has been very reasonable saying that if after getting it back i'm not happy I can have money back, and he's paying the bill.
I dont know wether to tell him to stuff it or knowing that car has had plugs and belt changed and was reasonably priced to begin with chance my luck
thats assuming it running ok when i eventually get it back.
