variator or worse
Hi all, its about time I returned to 155 ownership, and have been to look at a `97 2.0 155.
The car has done 74 k miles, but when I started it up, there was quite a loud ticking from the very top of the engine.
Oil pressure is at nearly 5 bar idle while cold, but it was a bit tappety, but I couldnt be sure if its the tappets or the variator.
The car also had some mayo gunk in the filler cap and looking through the filler into the engine I could see some more gunk.
What do you gurus think, walk away or knock them down low price wise. Its got no mot, and is up for £500, and is in that nice nordic blue colour too.
Maybe an oil change with good oil will help????
