I was pretty miffed to be honest as they looked so good.
The first pair were killed by the same pothole (well, a sort of trench really), the 3rd one was killed by a really not very bad pothole, at pretty low speed. I don't know if my having the V6 is likely to make that much difference. I know it's a bit heavier, but not that bad.
I think 15" would be a sensible choice. You'd then have more tyre to protect the rims from impacts...and to be honest, I prefer the ride on the 205/50/15 (I was wrong on my previous post - I went 205 on the 15", not 195) compared to the 205/45/16 which were always a bit harsh for old bones like mine.
I still have the old rims as it happens, 3 good ones, 1 egg shaped. 3 of them curbed to some extent
I'm currently using the 2 best ones on the front of my latest project to get it past the SVA test - the proper rims have slightly too much offset and stick out a gnats...and I don't want to risk failing the test because the bulge of the tyre is beyond the wheel arch line.
If you fancy a cheap set of 16" to try, let me know. They should be available fairly soon.
