Quick one here... can someone please direct me in the right direction for the Oil pressure gauge sender unit.. .
My gauge reads 4 without the engine running, and about 7 with the engine running regardless of the revs. I have checked and tightened all the brass nuts in the instrument pod as i thought it would be that causing it to read the way it did but it's still the same! ( But at least my rev counter now works! )
I now need to check the wiring at the sender to see what thats like but don't know which unit it is as there are that many on the engine!
It's a kinda egg cup shaped thing (coloured yellow on the 8v and V6).
On the 8v it's at the back of the engine behind cylinder 4, on the V6 it's at the front.
Your 16v errr.............I think it might be either the same place as the 8v sender or down at the front right of the engine beside the oil cooler etc.
Sorry not too sure, but I remember a long time ago someone asking the same thing for the 16v.
I thought it was the electrical switch/sensor on the heat exhanger that the oil filter screws onto as well. I've got one, but I'm not really any wiser than Marlon on this one!
Disconnect it and see what happens. Either no oil pressure will read, or the oil pressure warning lamp will not illuminate when the engine is not running.
