apart from clutches and cambelts is there anything else i should be looking at when viewing a potential buy. I'm trying to be as objective as possible but if i see a nice shiny black v6 at the right price i know my hearts gonna rule my head. I'm aware that this could bite me on the arse resulting in major wallet surgery !
If you have a 155 already you'll know about the wishbones and stuff - the V6 is more or less the same.
Clutch is okay. I took one out at 120k when I had the gearbox fixed and it was pretty good. It can't have been the original.. but who knows.
Gearbox is not bad but 120k seems to be when they start dropping out of gear.
Head gaskets at 120k.
Cambelt interval is 72k but bearing in mind the gearbox and headgasket issues it may be worth dropping the lump out and doing the whole lot in one go if you're near this mileage. It'll cost you over a Gorilla though...
Also, check the braided flexi' joint where the exhaust sections join. That can split, and it's a dealer-only part (£200 from memory).
Otherwise mine's just been fed on the the regular 155 consumables (wishbones, the odd relay, a lambada sensor and a TDC sensor) and that's about it. Pretty well-'ard.
Seems mainly standard 155 fare. Can anyone tell me if i can use the exhaust from my 2.0 8v on a v6 skinny? lookin at one now and its very clean and same colour and same interior as my ts, so a definite possible purchase.
