Re: Engine Stutter and sluggish acceleration
Apologies for not getting back sooner, been in the States testing next years car.
Anyway, I got back to sorting the car out and I have a few more details of the problem. The problems issn't revs related, you can get it past 3000 rpm if you don't accelerate two hard. It is completely throttle related, I drove the car the other day and I could only use aboout 1/4 throttle. Anymore and the engine just bogged down. I have since completely replaced the Throttle body, Throttle positon sensor and AFM and AFM Temprature sensor. These were taken off my original 155 which didn't have any of these problems. I also disconected the battery for over an hourto allow the ECU to reset. This helped slightly with the problem as I now half about half the movement of the throttle to play with. Whilst fitting the throttle body, I checked to make sure the throttle butterfly was opening full and it was.
It seems to me as if the car is over fuelling itself, as the fuel economy at the moment is crap. Just as a side note, I noticed the fuel pump was quite noisy when the tank got down to about 1/4 full, that couldn't cause the problem could it?
Anyway guys, thanks for the help so far and I am sure with you expert knowledge we will have this one licked.
