air flow meter

that old chestnut again.can anyone tell me how i can test the airflow meter on my 155 2.0 16v. it feels like theres no power lowdown or mid range. sometimes it feels worse than others it seems to please itself.can anyone tell me if there are any changes in the afm's between 1995 and 1998 as im not to sure, and how much is one likely to cost.many thanks

Re: air flow meter

I've been told (and it worked for me), that if you unplug the AFM, if there is a problem with it, it should disapear when it is unplugged. Idle may be a bit rough and low revs, and the injector light will stay on all the time.

It may just need a clean ( I used carb cleaner). To be definate you should get it on the diognostics. If you do need a replacement I've got a second hand one knocking around.
