When the ignition is on, the radiator fan cuts in if the engine is hot and switches off again when it's cooled it down a bit, as normal. That bit's okay.
It's just that if the fan is running at the moment I turn the ignition off, the fan also stops. If I turn the ignition on again, the fan starts again, suggesting that it thinks there is still a cooling job to do.
In other cars I've driven (my old 33 P4 for instance) if the fan was running when I turned the ignition off, the fan would continue running for another 30 seconds or so. That seems to be consistent with other cars.
I just wanted to check that what my '55 is doing is actually okay (for this model).
