Later versions of injection systems use a potentiometer rather than the earlier ones that are a simple switch - throttled closed, somewhere open or wide open.
So it won't click.
If you tihnk it's suspect, you need a decent DMM and you can either measure the volts from the middle pin as you move it with the ignition on(by carefully stabbing through the insulation), or disconnect it and measure the resitance changes from end to middle as you move it (need to do this from each end in turn really to make sure).
If you measure volts, look for the middle pin to change from 0v to 5v. Not sure what the resistance is for sure off the top of my head, but likely somewhere around 4 to 5k Ohms.
