Just had mine at a local garage today for a similar problem. I was hoping it would be something similar (lambda?), but no, they are convinced it's one of the engine valves (probably an exhaust one). Looking at 800-1000 pounds depending on the damage found once the lid is removed.
If that's not bad enough, the clutch is on its way out and the gearbox is beginning to stiffen up (quoted 500 pounds for both at the same time)! And the front pads are worn too.
The book value is about only 500 pounds. What do you think, fix it or dispose of it? It got new suspension last year all round (Eibachs and Bilsteins). Thinking of getting a 928 - can't be any more expensive to run, can it?
