What Fuel Pressure Should I Set ????

Thought I'd ask this before doing the deed on my car.

I'll soon have an FSE fuel pressure regulator which is adjustable.
One reason I'm getting it is so I can cure the pinking at 3000rpm.
I planned to do this by increasing the fuel pressure. This hopefully should cure the weak running at high revs that I've always suffered from (confirmed by Mr T on the rolling road).

Does anybody recommend a pressure to set it. Once the thing is in place it's a bugger to reach as it's under the intake manifold, so can't easily adjust it once fitted.

Also, any problems I may encounter if I set the pressure too high ???

When I fitted one to my 75, I left it at the factory setting and it worked fine, I think that you only need to adjust it if the engine runs rough.

Re: What Fuel Pressure Should I Set ????

Why not just set it to original pressure the old one was set at 3 bar is`nt it

If the old one was faulty and not holding 3 bar all the time then it might have lead to your running probs at 3000rpm A higher pressure might cause the Petrol Pipes to split prematurely (Especially if you`ve upset Mr Wrinx )

Or are you gonna be continually tinkering with it

Re: What Fuel Pressure Should I Set ????

another question..............

is it possible for the regulator to "stick" in it's high pressure setting, like it thinks the throttle is open ????

Thinking about it, I've had to modify the AFM to weaken the mixture to get the car to idle when warm or hot (that'll be why it's pinking then....)

If the regulator was holding the pressure at max instead of dropping 0.5bar, that would cause overfuelling at idle wouldn't it ???
