just a update on car cutting out ,tried earth leads, seemed ok, also relays,
no different.so took it to alfa dealer in hitchin for the ol plug in jobby.
the only error detected was the lambda sensor integrator?. the mech said that this would not cause the problem.so back to square one.he gave me a price of 92 pounds for fitting new leads. so until i get sorted i wont be driving it(to dangerouseven for me) so i wont even make kesick unless i come in the ol cavalier see you soon jimbo
It might be the Lambda sensor as this affects the fuel settings for the engine..............Might be worth getting a cheap sensor and trying it especially as its the only fault you got listed so there must be sumat wrong with the sensor anyway
What Engine have you got Jimbo
I had a problem with my 16 valve die on me awhile back, and it was all caused by a relay with burnt contacts. The relay was the one that supplies the coils with their 12 volt supply and is mounted in front of the battery on the right hand side. Hope this helps
speedy, wrinx, daiblack,
cheers for help,i'll try sensor thingy tonight if i get home early.
keep you informed.cheers jimbo.
btw,i dont know of any alfa specialists near me,nearest town hitchin herts, its got a alfa dealer.
hi all, just an update, got one relay off ok not really dirty, the other one tried everything i dare ,wont come out, stuck fast so gave up did'nt want to snap lugs on casing. anyway took it for a drive good thrashing everything seemed ok ,just got 1 mile from home and the same prob so i'll change the lambda and leads and have to stay in and drink coffee or water for the next week or so
Jimbo it might be the connectors on that relay thats corroded and giving a bad connection and that might also be why you cant pull it out .........................try squirting some WD40 around the terminals and wiggling it a bit and see if it helps
