Re: Noise and Banging.
I started on the anti roll over the weekend, that is a full day Saturday, just to get the old bar out. You have to strip half the bloody underside of the car to remove it. The way the heat shield is connected to the cross rail, is a joke!!.
Anyway, its turn into a big job than first expected. €500 of parts order this morning, including 2 new orignal shocks, after reading some old threads, they seem to be the best if you are staying with the orignal springs. Also the big bottom engine mount was all cracked. Decided to change everything, CV boots, track rods, engine mounts, shocks and top bearings etc. Only going to do this once.
First I shear 3 of the 4 studs on the flange between the exhaust manifold and twin pipe to the cat. I have enough on each to grab with a vise grip, but I have soaked them in WD40, do I need to use heat??? These buggers are all but welded in.
Second, on the top of the orignal shock there is a allen head. Do you need to secure this when removing/replacing?? The manuals shown a special tool. I ask Marlon this one already, but that was in the case of aftermarket shocks
A bit long winded - Sorry
