Brake pad wear

I'm propably digging up old cows here, but last week I replaced the front brake pads on my car. On booth sides the outer pads wore MUCH more than the inners, and the Brake pad sensor is located on the inner pad. Obviously, tha warning light did not come on, as the inner pads were still OK, but the outer pads were on their last legs.
Anyone else experience this ? The slider etc. was moving freely, so I cannot explain the uneven wear.
Check your pads !!

Re: Brake pad wear

I had this problem a while back and it turned out to be sticking pistons. The outside seems to get more brake dust on it than the inners. Cleaned everything up replaced pads and everything now fine.

Re: Brake pad wear

I had the opposite. My inner pad wore down when my caliper piston was seized.
