to remove the cam belt you have to remove the pully that drives the alternator (crank pulley) only a couple of bolts. You can even do it without slackening off the auxillary drive belt on the alternator. Easiest way is to jack car up, remove front wheel and there is a little access panel in the wheel arch, easy peasy with this off. Dont forget to tension the belt. It is ok when you can twsit the belt on its longest length through 90 degrees without doing an impression of the incedible hulk.
